EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN UNIVERSITY

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), the first and only state university in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), was established in the city of Famagusta in 1979 and all its programs are approved by the Turkish Council of Higher Education. EMU is a unique campus university with its educational buildings and laboratories spreading over 3000 acres of land, indoor and outdoor sports halls and cultural activities. Eastern Mediterranean University offers top class education in a multicultural environment with 20,000 students from 106 different countries and 1,000 faculty members from 35 different countries. EMU has a total of 91 associate and bachelor and 73 master and doctoral programs in 11 Faculties and 5 Higher Schools.

Requirements for Bachelor's Degree:

  • American College Testing: Minimum 21 points
  • General Certificate of Education (GCE): Having 2 A level or equivalent (4AS/8 IGCSE)
  • Internatinal Baccalaureate: Qualify for an IB diploma.
  • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT): Minimum 900/1600
  • High school equivalent: 90% or higher for Medicine and 70% or higher for other faculties.

Requirements for Master's Degree:

  • An official transcript of all university-level (Bachelor / Master) courses taken. A comparative mark/grade table if CGPA on the transcript is not out of 4.00.
  • Attested photocopies of diplomas received from a university or equivalent institutions (i.e. 4 years study bachelor degree). English translations of these documents are necessary if they are in any language other than English.
  • Documentation of scores received for English and academic proficiency exams/tests. This is not valid for the programs in which the medium of instruction is Turkish. Native speakers should indicate the place of birth and citizenship. All others should provide documents of any one of the below given English Proficiency Tests.
  • Three letters of reference.

  • Fall Semester (September): Admission from April till August
  • Spring Semester (February): Admission from November till January

NEAR EAST UNIVERSITY

Requirements for Applications to Postgraduate Master’s programs are as follows:

  • Graduating from a BSc or BA level undergraduate program (Min. CGPA 2.50)
  • English Proficiency: TOEFL and other Qualifications may be considered.
  • Turkish Proficiency (Required only for foreign students applying to Departments whereby the language of instruction is Turkish. Students applying to the Faculty of Medicine or Dentistry are required to have knowledge of the Turkish Language before beginning clinical training).

  • Fall Semester (September): Admission from May till August
  • Spring Semester (February): Admission from November till January

CYPRUS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY

Cyprus International University was established in 1997 in Nicosia, the capital city of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), as a result of rising interest in higher educational institutions and instruction in English. Equipped with a modern campus, over 18,000 students from over 65 countries enjoy a developed infrastructure and benefit from academic staff as well as educational facilities. CIU offers education with 37 Undergraduate Programs in 11 Faculties, 3 Associate Degree Programs in 8 Schools. The University also offers under-graduate and post-graduate level programs, with 25 Master’s Degree and 15 doctoral programs currently offered by the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research.

Bachelor's Degree

  • Higher Secondary Certificate or equivalents (e.g. O/A’Level, WAEC/NECO)
  • Evidence of English Language competence: TOEFL (65 IBT) or IELTS (5.5). Students without these documents will take the CIU’s English proficiency exam on campus following arrival.
  • Scanned copy of international passport/birth certificate
  • Fully completed and signed CIU Rules and Regulations document (which can be downloaded during the online application)

Master’s Programs

  • Bachelor’s Degree Diploma
  • Bachelor’s Degree transcripts for each completed academic term/year.
  • Evidence of English Language competence: TOEFL (65 IBT) or IELTS (5.5). Students without these documents will take the CIU’s English proficiency exam on campus following arrival.
  • Scanned copy of international passport/birth certificate
  • Fully completed and signed CIU Rules and Regulations document (which can be downloaded during the online application)

UNIVERSITY OF KYRENIA
